Client Requirment

The client, Belgium Police for Wetteren-Laarne-Wichelen area, sought to develop a geolocation-based Android and iOS app. The objective was to create a tool that would enhance collaboration between citizens and the police, enabling quick emergency response, access to important offices and addresses, traffic updates, local news, neighborhood agent information, and reporting of violations.

Process we follow

To meet the client’s requirements, we developed a comprehensive mobile app in collaboration with the Wetteren-Laarne-Wichelen police zone. The app was designed to serve all police zones in Belgium, providing a centralized platform for citizens and the police to connect. Key features of the app included emergency contacts, reporting functionality, local government office details, neighborhood agent information, SMS alerts, lost and found, traffic alerts, home surveillance requests, and geolocation-based data.

Result

The developed police app garnered significant recognition and won the CPL award for the most innovative means of communication of the year. The app was praised by Jan Jambon, Minister of Security and Home Affairs, for its modern communication approach that effectively bridged the gap between the police and citizens. Gerritjan Maes, Chief of Police at Wetteren-Laarne-Wichelen, commended the app for its groundbreaking nature and its ability to facilitate geolocation-based communication, fostering closer cooperation between citizens and the police.
